I'm so happy to see the Fall weather arrive. This is my favorite time of year at the ranch. The Spring flowers are spectacular if we have enough rain, but the cooler weather and Fall color are still my favorites. This year we've had a couple of rains at just the right time and I'm seeing more Fall wildflowers than usual. The trees are heavy with acorns--more than usual, and the old-timers say this is a sign of a hard winter. We will see I guess.
We have been living at the ranch now for over six years! Can't believe how fast the time has flown since retirement. I thought things would slow down after retirement, but I think they have speeded up. Having Wegener's Granulomatosis these past two years has certainly changed our lives, but if you are going to be ill, this is a great place to be. I can still take pictures, enjoy the beauty of the country, the seasons and the wildlife while I try to regain my strength. I look forward to working again someday if possible--trimming trees, moving rocks and making improvements around the ranch.
I hope you enjoy some of the new photos. We made a trip to Portland, Oregon in August to avoid the heat, and I took a lot of pictures during the trip.
